We offer private guitar tuition at The Papa's Table cafe and the Pig and Pastry cafe in Petersham. All ages welcome.

Adult Guitar Ensemble

Playing music with other people is the most rewarding way to do it and this ensemble class will provide the perfect setting for the type of player that would like to add a fun social aspect to their playing. This will keep you more motivated, accountable and improve your playing faster.

The ensembles are not for absolute beginners, but we do will cater to a wide range of skill sets. There's nothing to be intimidated about here. If you're a player that's hit a wall with Youtube or someone with a lot of experience, there's something here for you. The music played in this ensemble is written in a way that allows students at varying levels to play the same song.

In the class we will be looking at:

- ensemble playing and listening

- sight reading (it doesn't matter if you've never read notated music before)

- improvising

- new tunes (this will be a part of the class where I'll recommend songs for people to learn and also provide video tutorials)

Both acoustic or electric guitars are welcome. If you're playing electric please bring a lead. Amps will be provided.

We currently run two adult ensembles on Monday evenings. Cost is $34 + GST per class.

Playing music in an ensemble is vitally important to help a student develop their rhythm, musicianship, listening skills, improvising and sight reading. We encourage our students to learn how to read music and this provides the perfect outlet to use those skills. Combining private tuition with ensemble playing is a fundamental component of any strong school music program and we're excited to offer this option at Guide Tones.

Cost is $15 + GST per 45min class for student's doing private tuition with a Guide Tones tutor. Cost is $22 for student's not with a Guide Tones tutor. 9 week term.
